Year 6 netball wins gold!

"Whooooooo" blows the whistle as the pumped up and competitive girls start the netball finals

"GO BELL BLOCK!" Shouted the excited and proud parents.

It was the 10th of August at Devon Intermediate with 3 games of the most amazing sport! NETBALL!!

It was Bell Block vs Inglewood it was the MOST intense game of ALL!! During the first 20 seconds we got the ball in the goal straight away but they fought back, by the first quarter we were in the lead at about 9-0 but by half time they were catching up and the score was 11-5.

We weren't gonna give up that easily

"Whooooooo" blew the whistle and the final score was 17-12 to Bell Block!!!

After the challenge games we had prize giving , some photos and some thing to eat.

During prize giving we had won the Sophie O'Donell trophy! We were very excited that we won the trophy!

We would like to say a BIG thank you to Mrs Clarkson for training us to be a Future Ferns!!

Room 12 Ancient Egyptian Artworks

Room 12 kids have been doing Egyptian art in class. We started off with a title page, showing what we knew about Egypt. We also drew an egyptian face with details and colour. We then drew another face of an Egyptian with all the detail on a blank piece of A4 paper.

Once we did that, Miss Matson taped tinfoil onto a piece of card. The children then traced their drawings onto the tinfoil. Once they finished that, they painted their art. We hope you all enjoy our beautiful Egyptian Artworks.

Bell Block year 6’s make a splash!

On the 27th of May, the year 6 team from BBK School had their last day of the A.W.E swimming program. We had a celebration at Fitzroy Beach. There we met Daisy Day, the surfing photographer and the awesome surfer! Daisy taught us to stand up on our board and to surf a wave. We had 4 instructors to help us be a good surfer! “I would like to say thankyou to the helpers who helped us at surfing!” said Brittney. That was awesome to learn how to surf! Then sadly we had to go and get changed, that was hard getting out of our wet suits we all had to have help from Daisy Day!

Woodleigh Interschool Sports Exchange

As we marched over to the hall we spotted our competition, Woodleigh primary school! As we sat down on the cold wooden floor our two speakers Olivia and Tyler told our guests where everything was and Elizabeth, Logan and Mario performed a Karakia. We then walked outside to the courts and the fields to get ready to play. As soon as the netball started it was lunch time so there were kids outside cheering "Go Bell Block, Go Bell Block" with them cheering us on we knew we were going to win! For the netball we won 29-0 soccer lost 12-0 and the rugby lost

39-45 but we still had a great challenge! After all the wicked sports we got to go and have some scrumptious afternoon tea! Then sadly Woodleigh left to get back to their school.

Cycle Skills Training- Week 3, Term 2

Today Room 12 did cycle training on the road. We had to check if cars are coming, put out our hand the way we were going, and do a lifesaver look. A lifesaver look is when you look right back so you can see if cars are coming. Georgia said she was a bit scared at the start. Everyone enjoyed biking and learning. The skills we learned were to keep us safe on the road.

Rippa rugby kids rip up the field

The rippa rugby tournament was held at Sanders park also known as Tukapa rugby club. There was a mascot race and you had to dress up as a team from another country and we went as New South Wales.

"I enjoyed scoring try's and sliding across the mud!" exclaimed Slade . The year 6 team did awesome in coming 3rd overall and the mixed team came 5th. Vogeltown School won the tournament, but at least everyone had lots and lots of fun.
